Strengths
Our strength as a Junior Primary team lies in our flexibility to accommodate different learning and working styles in our students and staff. We have worked together in literacy block, physical education, dramatic play, electives, sleepovers and excursions.
Assembly
Assemblies for Term 1, 2008 are as follows. All Assemblies are in the School Hall.
| 9.05am | Wednesday | Week 2, 6th February |
| 9.05 am | Wednesday | Week 4, 20th February |
| 9.05 am | Wednesday | Week 6, 5th March |
| 9.05 am | Wednesday | Week 8, 18th March |
Sport
We have strong links as a Junior Primary team to other sections and activities in the school. Our Sports Morning is an integral part of the whole schools Sports Day. The points that our children score go towards the total score of the 3 teams, Maddison, Stirling and Tolmer. Sports Morning, swimming lessons and Splash Day are held in the first term. Splash Day is a fun way to celebrate the children's skills and comfort level in the water.
Transition
These links are also strong between the Kindergarten and School. We maintain close and regular contact through meetings, shared training and research, transition days between the Kindegarten and School for new students and class visits back.
Parent Involvement
We pride ourselves on a high parent commitment and involvement with our children. One particular initiative, the JP Parent Link, involves 2 parents from each class actively involved in promoting good communication between school and home, helping new parents and their children and helping to organise other parents to participate with classroom and JP events.
